01 About

Tutoring built on curiosity, structure, and trust.

I believe every student already has what they need to succeed; my job is to help them realize that.

Whether we're untangling a geometry proof, editing a college essay, or diving into a new language, I tailor each session to how your student learns best (and I push them a little).

Sessions are structured, in-depth, and always encouraging. We set clear goals, track your progress, and celebrate your big and small wins along the way.

I also offer private, hourly tutoring in these subject areas on a monthly subscription basis. Each session is personalized to your student's needs and goals, and we work together to build a plan that fits your schedule and budget.

What you get

SAT Success: Targeted study plan for reading and math with daily practice problems, bi-weekly full-length practice tests, and test-taking strategies.

College App Support: Balanced college list-building; essay brainstorming, drafting, and editing; and alumni interview prep.

My background

I scored in the 99th percentile on the SAT with a 1450 (770 Reading, 680 Math). I understand the nuances of each section and can provide tailored strategies for success. For college admissions, I was a tour guide at my university and a college advising fellow at Matriculate, an organization that connects high schoolers with college students highly-trained in admissions. I have a knack for punchy, impactful writing that moves admissions officers with your student's story.

What you get

Homework support, concept reteaching, writing feedback, and test prep for coursework. Expertise in English Language Arts (literature, writing papers, grammar and vocabulary) and math (Algebra 1 and 2, geometry, trigonometry, calculus).

My background

I have tutored high school students in both math and English for 6 years, accumulating hundreds of hours of experience helping them improve their grades and build confidence in their abilities. It's the best feeling in the world helping my students get a 100% on a test after thinking they wouldn't do well!

What you get

A mixture of homework help and structured exam preparation, including practice exams, FRQ/essay strategy, pacing, and review for your AP courses.

Subjects & background

AP Subjects Offered (my score): AP Biology (5), AP US Government and Politics (5), AP Statistics (4), AP English Literature (4), AP English Language (4)

What you get

Homework support, concept reteaching, writing feedback, and test prep for math (Algebra 1 and 2, advanced math), English Language Arts, geography, and music. Let's build strong foundations and study skills for the transition ahead!

My background

Experienced in working with diverse learners to first meet them where they are and then build from there! I know how tough middle school is both socially and academically, so I prioritize creating a supportive, encouraging environment for my middle school students to grow their skills and confidence.

What you get

Has your student been reading the latest manga at the Back Mountain Library? Gotten into K-Pop? These structured language lessons are designed for beginners to build a strong foundation. We'll start from the basics of reading and pronunciation and build up to writing, grammar, and conversation practice. (Textbook for Japanese: Tobira; for Korean: Yonsei)

My background

Having earned a bachelors degree in Japanese and studied abroad in Japan for 5 months, I'm well-equipped to guide students through the basics and nuances of Japanese. I've also studied Korean since I was in 8th grade (8+ years now!), so I have a deep technical and intuitive grasp of the language.
